/01Credits

Credits will not expire

A credit you buy stays yours. No monthly reset, nothing forfeited at the end of a period, and unused credits on a monthly plan roll over instead of disappearing. The credit ledger is built with no expiry rule in it, which is the version of this promise that is hard to quietly reverse.

Billing will run through Polar as merchant of record: Polar takes the payment, holds the card details and issues the receipt, so a refund is returned by the same route. None of that is switched on yet.

Refundable for 30 days from the purchase. Write to us and say which purchase.

Credits you have spent

Not refundable as a matter of policy. Model and rendering costs accrue while your book is being generated, and we would rather say that here than at the checkout. This is our policy, not a statement about the rights your own law gives you.

A monthly plan

Cancellable at any time, and credits you already hold stay yours after you cancel.

/03When it fails

You are not charged for our failures

A credit is held while a book is generated and settled when the work completes. The ledger is designed so that a failed stage, a render worker that falls over or a model call that times out releases the hold instead of spending it, and retrying our failure costs nothing.

If a failed operation looks like it took a credit, tell us and we will investigate it and correct the ledger.

/04Acceptance

We do not promise that Amazon will accept your file

The preflight report says what was measured, what the rule asked for, whose rule it is, and which revision of the KDP specification table it was checked against. That is evidence about the file. It is not a decision by Amazon, who apply their own review to their own policies and can change those policies at any time. Nobody can sell you a promise about someone else’s review, and we will not pretend otherwise.

If our report passed and KDP rejected the file anyway, we want to see it. Send us the report id and what KDP told you. We investigate each of those and fix what turns out to be ours. We are deliberately not publishing that as a policy with a promised outcome, because we do not yet have enough real rejections to know what we could keep to. When we do, this page will say so in numbers.

/05Cancelling

Cancelling is self-serve, and it is three clicks

A monthly plan will be cancelled from Polar’s own billing portal: open it, choose cancel, confirm. Polar asks why you are leaving as part of that flow. That makes it three clicks and a question, not one click, and we would rather give you the real number than round it down. We have not walked the live portal yet, and if it turns out to differ, this page changes rather than the description staying convenient.
